Axe Hill
Only one vintage is made each year from a blend of the Portuguese varieties. The wine is matured in old French oak barrels after hand sorting and foot crushing and fermentation in lagares for maximum extraction of both flavour and colour. This method closely resembles traditional Portuguese port wine making techniques which have been in use for centuries. Axe Hill Cape White has its origins with the first vintage in 2003 and will continue to grow in complexity with future releases. The cellar also produces a range of table wines using the available varieties. These include Machado (meaning Axe in Portuguese), Distinta (means different or distinctive), both unique blends with variations on the Portuguese theme but with different barrel regimes. Barrel fermented white wines; Viognier and Chenin Blanc!

Boplaas
Boplaas Family Vineyards is situated in the picturesque Klein Karoo village
of Calitzdorp, at the foot of the majestic Swartberg Mountains and next to
the Gamka rivier. Spirits have been distilled at Boplaas since 1880, when
the first order of potstill brandy casks were sent to Cape Town by ox wagon
for delivery to London.
Today, Boplaas produces an extensive range of world class wines and
specialise in Portuguese and Mediterranean varietal table wines and Cape
Port-style wine and spirits – including whisky and brandy.
Boplaas serves artisanal cheese and charcuterie platters accompanied by local preserves and roosterkoek.

Calitzdorp Cellars
Situated in Andries Pretorius Street overlooking the Calitzdorp Railway Station, this co-operative cellar was founded in 1928 and is best known for its sweet dessert wines and stunning outlook over the Gamka Valley.

De Krans Wines

De Krans Wine Cellar is situated along the upper reaches of the picturesque Gamka River Valley near Calitzdorp. De Krans was the first in South Africa to produce a Touriga Nacional as a dry red wine, made the first Pink port-style wine, as well as the first perlé Moscato wine in South Africa. De Krans has recently been awarded for its innovation, winning the Most Innovative Wine Award for the De Krans Espresso at the Michelangelo International Wine Awards.

Du ‘SwaRoo Wines

Established in 2007, Du’SwaRoo is the smallest wine farm on the Klein Karoo wine route. Boutique farm style wines are produced in limited quantities from grapes from our own vineyards. We also offer a range of deli products under our label, including Olive Oil, Olives, Harissa, and many more.

TTT Cellars
TTT Cellars is a small, boutique winery situated just off the R62, as you enter Calitzdorp, from the Oudtshoorn side. We specialize in hand-crafted artisanal wines, made with grapes from our own vineyards and those of neighbouring farmers in Calitzdorp. Graham, our winemaker has produced a large selection of wines, from the classic dry reds and whites, to a selection of unusual varietals and Portuguese blends. We also have Port style wines and dessert wines. Our wines are grown and produced in a sustainable manner, with little intervention in the vineyard and cellar as possible . The cellar is owned by Graham and Cheryl Anley.
